The shepherds were among the first witnesses to the Christ child. But what happened next? Their lives had to have been altered as a result of this encounter. As we've encountered Christ during this Christmas season how might our lives be changed as we enter a brand new year?
At the end of chapter one, Luke wraps up his introduction to the birth of Jesus. Elizabeth and Zechariah's son, who will be the "opening act" to Jesus' ministry is born. After his 9-month, God-imposed time of silence, in joy and happiness Zechariah bursts forth with song at the birth of his son. Join Pastor Greg as he shares what Zechariah learned from his time of not being able to speak and how we may employ a MUTE button in our own lives.
The joy expressed between Mary and Elizabeth in this passage is incredible. Join with Pastor Greg as he shares how we can learn to be joyful followers of Jesus and how we can spread that joy to others.
One of the most amazing statements of faith in the bible is Mary's affirmation to the angel's announcement that a child would be miraculously conceived in her who would become the Son of God. This particular act of faith is highlighted in her life, but throughout the Gospels Mary displays an admirable faith, which took root in this one encounter with an angel. Join Pastor Greg as he shares how we can learn from Mary's example of how to have a resilient faith.
As Luke sets out to tell the story of Jesus, he begins with the birth of Jesus' forerunner: John the Baptist. Join Pastor Greg as he shares some elements of hope that emerge which can strengthen our faith and trust in God during this Advent season.
