But how should a follower of Jesus love his or her country? Is there a right way to be patriotic for the believer? How many blessings have you received from God this week? How many times have you stopped to thank him for them? In today's story Jesus healed ten lepers, instructing them to show themselves to the priests, and they were healed as they went. Yet only one--a Samaritan--returned to praise God and thank Jesus. Jesus tells a few parables describing what God is like. But he is also describing what humanity is like and our desire for our own sense of "fairness."
